Girl's CYO Volleyball - Grades 4th - 8th

HSG CYO Volleyball is open to all registered members at Holy Spirit, St. John VIanney or St. Thomas for girls in grades 4th through 8th

There will be mandatory evaluations for all 5/6 grade teams and all 7/8 grade teams.  The evaluation date will be Mid-August - Date T.B.D...

No evaluations for 4th grade as they play in one division and those players will split evenly after first practice.

Practices will start late August/early September.

Games will start the last weekend of September and end shortly before Thanksgiving.  There will be a 2-week period that the girls will not play games during the fall break time period as there are many conflicts during the various school calendars (October 7th through October 20th).

Games will be played on weekdays and weekends.  Games can range from 900am to 400pm on Saturdays and 1200pm to 400pm on Sundays and start as early as 530pm during the week.  There will be one game during the week and 1 game on the weekend.  You will play games at both Holy Spirit and other parishes with CYO volleyball teams.

We are looking for coaches as well.  If you are interested in coaching (even just assisting) - please let us know in the comment box.  There is a background check and a safe and sacred program that all coaches need to fill out and that link is here:  SAFE ENVIRONMENT AND BACKGROUND CHECK

**PLEASE DO NOT REQUEST TEAM ASSIGNMENTS**

4th grade teams will be split as evenly as possible as there are no A or B divisions with CYO in 4th grade

5th/6th grade teams will be split by A, B, and C talent divisions and those teams will play against like talent at the other parishes.

7th/8th grade teams will be split by A, B and C talent divisions and those teams will play against like talent at the other parishes.

The cost of CYO Volleyball is $95 for the 1st family member, $170 for 2 family members ($20 discount) and $230 for 3 or more family members ($55 total discount).

HSG Flag Football

HSG Flag Football has 4 divisions:  Pre-Kindergarten/Kindergarten, 1st/2nd Grade, 3rd/4th Grade and 5th/6th Grade.  Games could be played on the outfield grass of the baseball diamond; however, most games will be played on the main football field.

PreK/Kindergarten - all teams will practice for the 1st 20 minutes and then they will play 2–20-minute running clock halves.  Time frames could be either 9:00am, 10:15am or 11:30.  In past years PreK/Kindergarten has gone from 9:00am to 10:15am.  There are no practices during the week for the PreK/K division.

1st/2nd Grade - all teams will practice for the 1st 20 minutes each game day and then they will play 2-20 minute running clock halves.  Time frames could be either 9:00am, 10:15am or 11:30am.  In the past 1st/2nd grade league has gone from 10:15am to 11:30am and potentially 11:30am to 12:45pm - depending on the number of teams.  There could be 1 practice per week (outside of Saturdays 20 minutes - at the discretion of the coaches).

3rd/4th Grade - all teams will practice for the 1st 20 minutes each game day and then they will play 2–20-minute running clock halves.  Time frames could be either 10:15am or 11:30am.  There could be 1 practice per week (outside of Saturdays 20 minutes - at the discretion of the coaches).

Please note that we will do our best with requests for teammates.  However - please understand that not all requests can be adhered to if we have too many requests for a particular team.  This program is set up to learn the basics of football (at the flag level) and allow the participants and families to meet others within our parish community not to create your own team and enter the league.  Parents helping to coach/assist will have requests will have priority on the placements.

Also - with this being the 1st year expanding it past the 1st/2nd grade division, the numbers could vary in the 3rd-6th grade registrations.  If numbers allow, we will have separate divisions for 3rd/4th and 5th/6th.  If the numbers do not support one of the age divisions - we could have a mix to get the ball rolling with the older kids.

The 2025 season schedule is as follows - 1 Wednesday scheduled game (others are make ups if needed):

  • September 6th - (Saturday) - 1st session of Flag Football
  • September 10th (Wednesday) - 2nd session of Flag Football

HSG - FREIGHT FAMILY NIGHT!!

HSG Athletics and Fishers Freight Arena Football have a family night coming up on July 19th at 7:00pm at the Fishers Event Center.  If you have not made it to the event center yet - It is an awesome facility to see concerts and sporting events.

One of the cool things with the Fishers Freight Arena Football team is that you get to keep the football when it goes into the stands after kick-offs, extra points and over passes to receivers during the games!  They typically have to replace 40 balls every game.  One of the seating sections is located in the endzone right behind the goal post.  The cost is only $20/ticket for this offer with Holy Spirit Geist Athletics.  You can CLICK HERE to purchase tickets if you are interested!
